Problem
Nohy v cajku is a small pedicure business that had no website. Customers booked by phone, or arranged their next visit in person. Everything went into a paper diary.
The diary had to be at hand all the time and mistakes were easy to make: an appointment never got written down, ended up on the wrong day, or stayed in the diary after it was cancelled. Names were often missing a phone number, so when an appointment had to move, there was no one to call. And now and then, someone simply didn’t show up.
Solution
I built a website with a booking system that fully replaced the diary.
- Logo and visual identity. I designed the logo, colours and typefaces, and based on them business cards, gift vouchers, a price list and a billboard. The same identity runs through the website and the app.
- The business’s first website. Customers find prices, contact details and directions.
- Visible on Google and Seznam. I set up a Google Business Profile and a Firmy.cz listing, both linking to the website. Searching for “pedikúra Kralovice” shows the profile right at the top and the website as the first result.
- Online booking, no sign-up. Customers pick a free slot themselves, any time, even for several people at once. Two people can never book the same time.
- Cancel or reschedule with one link. The link comes in the confirmation email, nothing else needed.
- SMS reminder on the day. Far fewer forgotten appointments.
- A calendar instead of the diary. On the tablet in the salon and on her phone, with contact details on every booking. Appointments made in person go straight in here too.
- QR code payments. For every booking the app shows a QR code with the price of the service, and the customer pays straight to the salon’s account in their banking app. A QR code for any other amount takes a moment to create.
- Morning overview. A notification with the day’s schedule every morning, and another one for every new booking.
Result
The paper diary went into a drawer. All appointments are in one place, nothing gets lost and every one has contact details. Bookings come in outside opening hours too, with no phone calls in the middle of work.
Branding
The logo, a footprint inside a circle, pairs a warm dark colour with a gold-to-rose gradient. The footprint became the icons of the website and the admin app, and the same colours and typefaces carry over to the printed materials the salon uses.

Admin app
The booking and admin screenshots show sample data. The admin app runs on its own login-protected subdomain.
Technology
The website and the admin app are a single Next.js application written in TypeScript. Bookings live in a PostgreSQL database (via Prisma), which itself makes sure two appointments never overlap, even when two people pick a slot at the same moment. The styling is built with Tailwind CSS.
Confirmation emails go out through Resend and same-day reminders through an SMS gateway. Notifications about new bookings and the morning overview reach the phone via Web Push. The admin app is added to the tablet or phone home screen like an app (PWA), with nothing to download from an app store. Bookings can also be subscribed to in Apple Calendar.
A sitemap and structured data about the salon (LocalBusiness) help search engines. The website runs on Vercel and the database on Neon, so there is no server of its own for anyone to look after.
